Anne Kurris was born in Antwerp in 1959. During her studies graphic design at the Royal Academy and St Lucas in Antwerp, she met Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck and the other Belgian designers who where part of ‘The Antwerp Six’. After graduating, Anne Kurris worked as a graphic designer for Dries Van Noten, for whom she designed the catalogues and invitations. She became art director of the fashion magazine BAM! and worked for major Belgian cultural institutes like the Flemish Opera in Antwerp and the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels. In 1998 the Anne Kurris children’s wear collection was launched, inspired by pop art and nature, and characterized by bright color combinations and a strong graphic design. In 2009 Anne Kurris was invited to show her paperdresses in MOMU (Mode Museum Antwerp), part of the exibition PAPER FASHION. Anne Kurris teaches graphic design at the famous Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and Sint-Lucas Antwerp.
